Volkswagen/Audi wouldnt have tuned the 2.0TSFI the way it is now if it were N/A…of course it will make “only 132hp” without a turbo. if tuned to be N/A it would be more like the narrow angle VR6, higher compression ratio,more revs, etc etc and make alot more hp, granted the engine’s character would be quite different. so saying this engine would only have 132hp really doesnt mean .

Sorry buddy, I agree the Audi A4 is a very nice car, but your entire arguement is flawed. You are simply comparing two different class cars from two completely different class eras. I could buy a Lancer Evo for $10,000 less than an A4 and absolutely destroy it in a drag race. Does that mean the Audi A4 sucks? Of course not. They are just completely different designed cars.

This A4 is forced inducted. Anyone who knows anything about FI knows the tremendous power it can produce and advantage it has over naturally aspired engines. For every pound of atmospheric pressure you increase, an engine will put out roughly 6.8% more power. If the A4 is running just 5 psi boost (the level which most factory turbos run), that’s a 34% increase in power. Naturally aspired, this Audi would be making just 132 HP, not 200 HP.

Displacement has today has very little to do power. Its about how your engine was tuned from the factory. The 1UZFE was designed to be refined and smooth, not muscular or neck-snapping. Thats why it only came in manual. While the 1UZ has the potential, most SC tuners opt for the SC300, since its got the legendary 2JZ Supra engine.

Actually, it’s a dime a dozen to buy parts and tuning for Audi’s if you know where your going and what your doing. An Audi could (depending on which motor) handle PLENTY of power w/ stock internals, and with a tiny replacement of pistons you can handle gaping ammounts of power easy. Besides; v8 vs i4.. big difference buddy.
